Diao called it a childhood dream to score on his debut, while Cesc Fabregas said the challenge now is to maintain that level while juggling Serie A and European football every three days.

Roma had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Fenerbahce. Bryan Cristante put the Italian side ahead before Archie Brown leveled, leaving Roma with a point from a game goalkeeper Mile Svilar felt they largely controlled. Gian Piero Gasperini said the draw could still prove important, though Roma are now waiting for news on Manu Koné after he went off with a muscular injury.

Elsewhere, Lens beat 10-man Slavia Prague 3-2 with two stoppage-time goals, while PSV Eindhoven drew 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk. Napoli, meanwhile, confirmed injuries to Alex Meret and Alisson Santos after their 1-0 loss to Arsenal.
