Liverpool led the day’s transfer business by signing Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan from Barcelona, with an option to make the move permanent. Nottingham Forest also made a major defensive addition, bringing in Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for a reported £34 million, while West Ham signed Manor Solomon from Tottenham on a three-year deal.

Crystal Palace were involved in two significant moves. Everton and Palace confirmed a swap deal involving Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson, and Palace are close to adding Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise. Tottenham, meanwhile, secured some continuity by handing Micky van de Ven a new long-term contract.

Roma pushed forward on two fronts in Italy. Nahuel Molina arrived in the capital for a medical ahead of his move, while talks over Rodrigo Mora moved closer to agreement through a structured proposal worth €25 million up front, with a clause to buy the remaining 50 percent for another €25 million in 2027. Atalanta also struck a basic agreement with Udinese to sign Thomas Kristensen for about €22 million plus add-ons on a loan that includes an obligation to buy.

Rangers suffered the day’s biggest setback, losing striker Youssef Chermiti for a significant period after he sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage. The Scottish club are still active in the market, with Couhaib Driouech in Glasgow for a medical before a £7 million move. Away from transfers, Derby County’s proposed investment from Turki Alalshikh was shelved, while the Carabao Cup second-round draw paired Chelsea with Luton and Tottenham with Charlton.
