Another injury setback for Ousmane Dembele! PSG's Ballon d'Or winner forced off in Champions League play-off clash with Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele suffered yet another injury setback on Tuesday in the Champions League. The Ballon d'Or winner lasted just 27 minutes of PSG's Champions League knockout stage play-off clash against Monaco before having to be replaced. Desire Doue took over from Dembele and scored twice in a 3-2 first-leg win for Luis Enrique's side at the Stade Louis II.

Harry Kane has agreed in principle to extend his Bayern Munich contract after turning down the chance to join Barcelona next summer, ending any immediate doubt over the England captain’s future and closing off a potential move elsewhere.

Italy kept up their Nations League campaign with a 3-1 win over Turkiye in Bologna, where Gianluca Scamacca scored his first international goal in three years and Riccardo Calafiori added his first for the senior side. Francesco Pio Esposito was also on target as Roberto Mancini rotated heavily, making nine changes. Mancini said Italy’s lack of fluidity was to be expected, while Turkiye coach Vincenzo Montella insisted his side are operating at a new level and said he wants to remain in charge. Italy’s Under-21s had a more emphatic night, beating Poland 6-2 to qualify for the European Championship, with Cher Ndour scoring from inside his own half.

Manchester United have opened talks with Bruno Fernandes over a new contract and are planning fresh terms for Lisandro Martinez as well. Away from the first team, the club is facing uncertainty over teenager JJ Gabriel after concerns over his game time.

In Serie A, injury problems continue to build. Napoli lost Mathias Olivera on international duty, while Scott McTominay is due for post-heart surgery tests on Wednesday as he works toward a return to training. Milan said Alexis Saelemaekers will seek specialist treatment and may yet require further ankle surgery, while Pervis Estupinan is likely to miss the next run of games with a knee problem.
