Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League came under fresh pressure after a 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth. Alex Scott scored the winner at the Emirates as Bournemouth beat the league leaders, and Mikel Arteta called the result “a big punch on the face” after saying his side were “extremely bad.”

In another significant Premier League result, West Ham beat Wolves 4-0 to move out of the relegation zone. Taty Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos both scored twice in a win that deepened Wolves’ problems. At Brentford, Everton rescued a 2-2 draw with a stoppage-time goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after Thiago had twice put the hosts ahead.

In Serie A, Roma stayed in the title race with a 3-0 win over Pisa, led by Donyell Malen’s hat-trick. After the match, Gian Piero Gasperini dismissed suggestions of friction with Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri also said he was ready to step aside unless asked to stay, and said Roma had turned to Gasperini after several other coaches rejected the job. Roma also suffered an injury setback, with Lorenzo Pellegrini ruled out for at least four weeks with a thigh injury.

Torino beat Verona 2-1, with Giovanni Simeone and Cesare Casadei scoring, while Cagliari edged Cremonese 1-0 through a Sebastiano Esposito header in a major relegation battle. AC Milan prepared for Udinese with Max Allegri switching to a 4-3-3 and naming Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Alexis Saelemaekers in attack.
