With £500 million: Chelsea put 11 players up for sale
Chelsea have shown a willingness to sell 11 players during the current summer transfer window, while on the other hand they continue to strengthen their ranks, having recently completed the signing of Jordan Henderson, who becomes the club's eighth summer signing.
Liverpool’s ownership group has agreed to sell roughly a third of the club to a consortium that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, in a deal that values Liverpool at more than £5bn.
Manchester City are moving aggressively in the market. The Premier League champions have agreed a £52m sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah after just one year at the club, while also submitting a £102.5m bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea have set a 17:00 BST Friday deadline for any City offer. Away from transfers, Erling Haaland added four more Guinness World Records to his collection.
Arsenal are closing in on Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, with the move described as 99 percent done and the player having made clear he wants to join. The north London club have also rejected an approach from Milan for Ethan Nwaneri. Mikel Arteta said Nwaneri needs to play football and did not rule out the sale of a young player, but Arsenal’s stance remains firm for now. The club have also invited offers for Gabriel Martinelli and Nwaneri, though Martinelli has no intention of joining Galatasaray despite a €45m bid.
In Italy, Juventus have reached a €20m agreement with Bologna for Jhon Lucumi and scheduled his medical. Inter and Lazio, after a late issue, reworked Davide Frattesi’s switch, with the midfielder arriving for a medical ahead of a loan worth €5m, an option to buy for €10m, and a 50 percent sell-on fee. Football also lost Jimmy Rimmer, the former Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa goalkeeper and a European Cup winner, who has died at 78.
