Two Tottenham stars say yes to exit with agreement reached for one transfer
Both Cristian Romero and Pape Matar Sarr want to leave Tottenham this summer with the former now close to an exit, according to reports.
Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City, with the Premier League club accepting a £65.4 million fee for the Ballon d’Or winner. The move brings Rodri’s seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium to an end and stands out as the biggest development of the day. City are already looking ahead, holding advanced talks with Lille over Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Juventus have been just as active. The Turin club completed the signing of defender Jhon Lucumi from Bologna for €19.5 million plus add-ons and then moved quickly in goal, with Tottenham accepting a loan offer for Guglielmo Vicario that includes an option to buy. Vicario has arrived in Turin for his medical, while Juventus left Michele Di Gregorio out of the squad for their final preseason friendly ahead of the expected switch. Their pursuit of Emiliano Martinez had already been dropped.
Elsewhere in Italy, Milan are closing in on Diego Moreira from Strasbourg in a deal worth more than €50 million, with the player cleared to travel for a medical on Tuesday. Napoli are also advancing a move after Benoit Badiashile was given permission to undergo a medical, following Chelsea’s agreement to a deal worth €3 million for a loan plus a €27 million option to buy.
Away from the transfer market, Lazio suffered an embarrassing Coppa Italia exit, losing 2-0 at home to Serie B side Mantova in the round of 64. Monza, meanwhile, expect captain Matteo Pessina to miss at least four months after surgery on a serious knee injury.
